The investment process

An investment request goes through five different stages at Holland Venture. We strive to be as efficient and transparent as possible, informing the company swiftly on whether and how Holland Venture sees opportunities to invest. The stages are:

1. Intake

Within one week after receiving a business plan Holland Venture analyses the proposal and decides whether the company in question complies with the applicable investment criteria.

2. Screening

The next step is a personal interview with the entrepreneur or management to obtain a greater understanding of the company and the motivation for the application.

3. Analysis

The formal part (due diligence) starts after the screening process. This process is conducted and coordinated by the investment team, possibly supplemented by external specialists. The due diligence process involves an analysis of the legal and financial aspects of the investment, as well as evaluating the product, the market and the competitive position of the company.

4. Proposal

During the due diligence process, both parties agree on the outlines of the transaction. These targets are captured in a termsheet. Usually, the process of intake to proposal is accomplished within 6 weeks.

5. Closing

Once both parties agree to the terms of the investment proposal, the proposal is evaluated by Holland Venture’s investment committee.. After approval, the contract is drawn up and signed by both parties. The cooperation for value creation can now start.
