Corporate governance
Holland Venture bases its activities on the principles of compliance, expertise, transparency and reliability. We are a member of the Dutch Association of Venture Capital companies, the Nederlandse Vereniging van Participatiemaatschappijen (NVP) and we abide by the NVP code of conduct.
A critical principle of the code is that Holland Venture is expected to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Furthermore, the code describes how we take into account the interests and responsibilities of other stakeholders when investing in a Netherlands-based portfolio company. The code also contains guidelines on transparency toward the public and media.
We also attach great importance to corporate governance in our portfolio companies. Issues such as management structure, reward systems, integrity and transparency of the company are closely monitored. Depending on the size and growth of the company and the nature of the shareholder structure, the roles of management and shareholders are incorporated in a corporate governance statement.
In addition to sound corporate governance, we also strive to continuously improve the economic, environmental and social performance of our portfolio companies.
Holland Venture does not invest in companies that
- are guilty of using child labour;
- employ staff working under poor conditions;
- contravene environmental legislation;
- infringe human rights as contained in international law.
